Welcome to Cosmos and Logos:
Cosmology, Mythology, and the Ancient Mysteries
This web site is dedicated to research and writings on ancient texts, myths,
and religious traditions and the connections these have with modern culture and
religion. Indeed, there is nothing that exists within modern religious structure that is not related to ancient traditions once rooted in cosmological paradigms and reflected in the ritualistic and psychological templates of antiquity. The ancient state was sacral in nature and erected around the temple; these axis-mundi form the basis of all modern religious paradigms and socio-cultural developments which have instigated each civilization. These traditions, many of which detail a highly advanced understanding of natural science, astronomy, mathematics, and human psychology, have been passed down, in various forms and degrees of competency, through mythologies, architectures, languages, and religions. The ancient Mysteries were a primary avenue for this transmission of knowledge.
This site is open to any who wish to publish on-line articles in the areas described. It is also a primary avenue of discourse for Pacifica Graduate School students and researchers. A Message board is included for Pacifica notes,
questions, and study groups. Others may post on the message board any
questions or comments of interest. If you would like to submit an article,
a picture for the gallery, or an original myth, please click the "Contact Us" page
for instructions. If you have any other questions or comments, please contact us at your convenience.
This site also contains an on-line store, selling a wide variety of mythological and religious artifacts and statuettes. All proceeds of these sales go to run this site; any contributions via purchases is appreciated.
