Life and Theology of Orpheus

An introduction to the historical figure and religion of Orpheus, with a translation given by Thomas Taylor. Taylor was a British Neo-Platonist classicist whose views on Orphism are slightly outside the main academic model, coinciding closer to a theosophist worldview.

Critias: by Plato

Critias is a dialogue written by Plato. This particular translation is by Benjamin Jowett. This text is partial, most of it having been lost, and dates to 360 BC. In this text the only historical mention of "Atlantis" is made. This alleged ancient civilization has been the fancy of many a science fiction writer and artist, but also to scholars who are constantly tring to "crack" the mystery of Atlantis.
