Copernicus Solar System

It is still widely taught that Copernicus was the first to rightly devise that the earth rotated around the sun and not the other way around. However, this tenant cannot be accepted as ancient astronomers as far back as Egypt and India clearly understood the proper solar system mechanics. Needleman suggests that earth as center was part of an esoteric teaching misunderstood and literally interpreted.
