Leonidas and Thermopoley

The legendary king of Sparta Leonidas pitted 300 Spartan warriors against one to two million soldiers of the Assyrian Empire. For three days Leonidas held the massive hoarde at bay on the shores of Thermopoley, but in the end all perished including the King. So great was his name spread throughout Greece, that within one year all the lands Assyria had taken had been reclaimed by Greece in Leonidas' memory.
